Job Summary

Sagiliti is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead and execute its data modernization and growth strategy. This is a hands-on and strategic role, combining technical expertise with leadership in defining data repositories, enabling new products, and shaping the company’s data strategy. You will play a critical role in expanding service offerings that help clients achieve resource efficiency while driving both profitability and corporate responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data architecture, integration, modeling, transformation, analytics, and governance.
• Define and design data repositories and structures to support new product offerings.
• Provide input to the product roadmap, aligning data strategy with business objectives.
• Build, migrate, and modernize legacy systems into scalable, cloud-based platforms.
• Design and manage data warehouses and pipelines within the Azure ecosystem.
• Develop APIs to connect diverse systems and enable real-time data movement.
• Implement machine learning models (data tagging, labeling, and automation).
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards (HIPAA).
• Support and mentor team members, providing technical leadership in a lean, high-visibility environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical roles (developer, engineer, or technical analyst).
• Strong proficiency in Python (hands-on coding required).
• Expertise in SQL and database technologies (PostgreSQL, Azure ADSL Gen2).
• Experience with ETL and pipeline tools: DBT, Airflow, ADF, Databricks, or similar.
• Familiarity with data modeling, mapping, normalization, and database standards.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure services (Microsoft Azure preferred).
• Ability to leverage APIs for data integration across platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in lean teams with high visibility to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing machine learning workflows (data tagging, labeling).
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and server-building.
• Background in data governance, compliance, and security best practices (HIPAA).
• Prior experience as a team lead or mentoring junior engineers.
• Passion for sustainability, modernization, and data-driven insights.
